FAVA BEAN SALAD

Salata del foul

 

Ingredients :

 
bullet1 pound fava beans (fresh or frozen )
bullet2 pints water salted (1tablespoon salt)
bullet1 teaspoon cumin
bullet1 teaspoon black pepper
bullet½ teaspoon paprica
bullet½ teaspoon chili powder
bullet½ teaspoon salt
bullet2 tablespoon olive oil
bullet4 sprigs coriander (chopped)
bullet1 tablespoon grated onion

Equipement :

bulletParing knife
bulletStrainer
bulletServing plate or bowl.

Direction :

  1. In a saucepan put the water, and the fava beans, boil, covered, until tender, about 20 to 30 mn on medium heat.
  2. Once cooked, verse them in the strainer and let them aside a few minutes.
  3. In the skillet, warm the oil, add the grated onion, the fava beans, the coriander, then all the spices. 
  4. Stir well , and cook for 5 mn.
  5. Serve the fava beans warm or chilled.
